Description

Apex PE232 MKII 2 30-Band Paragraphic-EQ Product Details

PE 232MKII Paragraphic Equaliser

PE 232 is a combination 2x30 band graphic equaliser with 2 parametric equalisers.

Features

  • a combination of a 2x30 band graphic eq with a 2-band parametric eq
  • Graphic equalisers are "constant-Q" for better combining of filters
  • Gain graphic equalisers : switchable +-12 dB or +- 6 dB for higher resolution.
  • DLT : Dynamic Laser Trimming for absolute flat amplitude and phase response
  • 30 ISO center frequencies : 25Hz - 25KHz, 1/3 octave
  • All filters can be put individually in/out of the circuitry allowing for comparison between the equalised and the flat signal.
  • Parametric filters with a gain of -&(typically -45 dB) to + 15 dB for removal of unwanted noises.
  • Parametric filters with a frequency response of 18Hz - 20KHz
  • Parametric filtes with variable width (Q) for optimum filter definition
  • Variable High Pass filter (HP)to protect amplifiers and speakers
  • LED overload indication sensing the whole circuitry (not only in - or output)
  • Rugged chassis with extra metal framework behind frontpanel to avoid torsion of the circuit boards
  • In - and outputs are connected in case of power failure.

Specifications

  • Output

Electronically balanced and floating, simulating transformer output with app. 10 KOhm to ground impedance for each leg

Max level: +21 dBm into 600 Ohms

    Impedance: 51 Ohms (each leg)

Output symmetry balance better than 65dB (20Hz-20KHz IEC)

    XLR-3 type connector

      connections: 1 signal ground; 2 hot (+); 3 cold (-)
  • Performance

frequency responce: +0 -0,5dB, 20Hz-40KHz (graphic eq IN)

    THD:<.01% (20Hz-20KHZ)

Noise:<-94dBm (typ. -98dBm), graphic and parametric equalisers in circuit (0dB settings)

      measurements: 22Hz-22KHz RMS unweighted
  • Level control:- to +6dB
  • Level control '0dB' cal. accuracy: +-0.2dB (overall gain input to output)
  • Overload indicator: lights for approximately 200ms if the instaneous peak voltage at any point in the aqualiser comes within 2dB of clipping
  • Filters

    Graphic aqualiser:

       30 ISO center frequencies: 25Hz-20KHz 1/3 octave

Center frequency tolerance: +-1% (typically better than +-0.5%)

       Q tolerance: +-1%

       Max boost/cut: 6 or 12dB +-0.5dB reciprocal

       Switchable

    Parametric filters

       Tuning ranges: 18-200Hz, 180Hz-2KHz, 1800Hz-20KHz

Vernier control: +-10% of main frequency control

       Range of Q adjustment: 0.5 to 8

Range of level adjustment: - to +15dB (typ -45 to 15.5dB) non reciprocal. Smaller cut than boost curves through addition and substraction of parametric bandpass filter output to filter input

       Each filter individually switchable

    High pass filter:

       Frequency range: 15-300Hz (-3dB frequencies)

       Type: maximally flat 12dB/octave
