Palmer PDI 03 Speaker Simulator Product Details
The Speaker Simulator Palmer PDI03 in the 8 Ohm version combines load impedance, signal splitter and DI box especially for guitarists. All functions are optimized for live and recording use. Instead of a loudspeaker, the PDI-03 is connected directly to the amplifier output, the signal is no longer picked up with a microphone, but fed directly into mixing consoles, tape machines, etc. after a special filter stage. This means that amplifiers without master volume can be driven fully into power stage distortion, eliminating the annoying volume problem.
The filter simulates the characteristics of different loudspeakers and speaker types: open 2 x 12'' combo, closed 4 x 12'' cabinet with its typical bass pressure and stack with "V" setting of an equalizer, "American" or "English" speaker and presence/brightness. The volume of the nine possible combinations can be adjusted individually. Four unfiltered adjustable line outs can control effect devices. Speakers for live monitoring are connected via the Thru socket, the load impedance is automatically switched off. The maximum input power is 100 W without speakers connected.
