Are you looking for open-back reference headphones for mixing and mastering that combine precise audio reproduction, high comfort, and professional software support? The ADAM Audio H715 Reference Studio Headphones are the flagship open-back model in ADAM Audio’s headphone portfolio and were developed for demanding studio applications.
The H715 Reference is designed for users who require exceptionally accurate reproduction during mixing, mastering, and critical listening. At the same time, the special Hi-Fi mode allows for use with high-quality balanced headphone amplifier outputs. As a result, the ADAM Audio H715 Reference Studio Headphones combine professional studio work with high-quality music listening at home.
The ADAM Audio H715 Reference Studio Headphones operate on an open-back acoustic principle and feature a circumaural design. This makes them particularly suitable for long listening sessions that require transparency, detail, and a natural soundstage.
The tuning is designed for balanced tonal reproduction, exceptional bass response, very low distortion, and high sound pressure headroom. The frequency response ranges from 9 Hz to 40 kHz, and the maximum sound pressure level is 113 dB at 1 kHz.
The ADAM Audio H715 Reference Studio Headphones utilize specially developed titanium-coated PEN drivers with a 40 mm diaphragm diameter for sound reproduction. The drivers have an impedance of 150 ohms and are powered by neodymium magnets.
The driver unit features a precisely tuned suspension and a patent-pending ventilation system. The drivers are angled and sit behind an air-permeable, woven steel grille. High-density acoustic material dampens unwanted resonance peaks and contributes to the openness of the soundstage.
The ADAM Audio H715 Reference Studio Headphones were designed for high comfort during extended use. The spring steel headband ensures a secure fit, while the padding with a central recess reduces pressure on the crown of the head.
The soft memory foam ear pads conform to the shape of the head around the ears. The package includes two pairs of magnetically attachable ear pads: one pair made of fabric and one pair made of synthetic leather. The ear cups are connected to the headband via precision-machined aluminum forks and can be folded flat.
The H715 Reference features a special Hi-Fi mode. Using the included 3-meter Hi-Fi cable—which features cable routing on both sides and a 4.4-mm Pentaconn plug—the headphones can be connected to a balanced headphone amplifier output.
Hi-Fi mode is activated via a recessed switch on the inside of the left ear cup. A metal pin is included for this purpose. Additionally, a 1.3-meter-long coiled cable for studio applications is included in the package. This cable can be extended up to 3 m, connects on one end, and features a 3.5-mm jack plug with an adapter to 6.3 mm.
The ADAM Audio H715 Reference Studio Headphones are complemented by a specially tailored software package. The Headphone Utility plug-in, developed by Sonnox, offers precise calibration options for ADAM Audio headphones and includes a customizable crossfeed function.
The ListenHub app for macOS is also included. It serves as a virtual monitoring center, allowing you to integrate reference tracks, balance volumes, and control the mono signal, side components, and stereo balance. The Headphone Utility plug-in can be integrated directly into ListenHub, enabling system-wide calibration.
The ADAM Audio H715 Reference Studio Headphones are an excellent choice for anyone looking for open-back studio headphones for critical listening, mixing, and mastering. In particular, the titanium-coated 40-mm PEN drivers, the open-back design, Hi-Fi mode, extensive software support, and modular design make this model appealing for professional applications.
If you need reference headphones with 150-ohm impedance, a frequency response of 9 Hz to 40 kHz, replaceable ear pads, a flat-folding design, and a comprehensive package, the ADAM Audio H715 Reference Studio Headphones offer a high-quality solution for studio work, monitoring, and discerning music listening.
