The DEFENDER® MIDI 5 modular cable bridge was developed on the basis of our popular DEFENDER® MIDI cable bridge for optimal wheelchair crossing. It consists of a MIDI compatible middle section and a flat ramp, which together can be extended and combined as required, both in length and width. With extremely easy handling.

Middle section

Especially the topic of accessibility has become more and more the focus of organizers and authorities in the last years. With conventional cable bridge systems, a compromise often had to be made between barrier-free access and trafficability. With the new DEFENDER® 2D M, this is different: A completely traversable and at the same time wheelchair-accessible ramp with a 6° incline is attached to each center section. The flat gradient makes it easier for wheelchair users to cross the ramp effortlessly and is so stable that it can also be driven over by forklifts and trucks.

The system can be extended in length and width as required. Effortless accessibility and safety are thus guaranteed even in areas where five channels are not sufficient, e.g. near power generators or the FOH. Sound, lighting and power cables can be routed individually, effortlessly and safely. The completely symmetrical design of the center sections simplifies assembly and you never have to search for the right mounting part again. Precise assembly plans are not required either. Thanks to this symmetry, optimum stability in the longitudinal and transverse directions can be achieved by laying center sections and ramps in a half-connection, while at the same time dispensing with lost parts such as adapters and bones. The joints have been designed to have enough clearance for easy assembly while still providing sufficient stability. Adapters are available to connect the center sections longitudinally in the event that the cable bridges are to be installed without ramps.
