Force features an 8x8 clip-launch matrix with RGB LEDs, a 7-inch full-color capacitive multi-touch display, 8 touch-sensitive knobs with graphic OLED displays, 2 audio inputs, 4 audio outputs, MIDI and CV I/O. This versatility grants the user unprecedented creative freedom and expression - all without the need for a computer connection.

Intuitive, clip-based workflow is at the core of Akai Force, providing the creative foundation for any performance. You can combine a variety of modes - plug-in tracks, MPC-style drum tracks, audio tracks, key group tracks, MIDI tracks and CV tracks - to specify the type of clips you want, then shape them to your liking via step sequencers, drum pad performances or notes. The new 2.9 firmware update adds DrumSynth to the FORCE and MPC series. DrumSynth amplifies the unprecedented power of the existing virtual instruments included in the MPC and FORCE music production tools - TUBESYNTH,BASSLINE, ELECTRIC and HYPE.

At the heart of DrumSynth is a multi-synth sound generator architecture. Supported by FM synthesis, physical & analog modeling and sample-based algorithms, DrumSynth takes all FORCE and MPC users to unprecedented levels of standalone sound design. This revolutionary plugin features 8 individual instances (kick, snare, clap, toms, percussion, hi-hat, crash and ride), each with its own unique sound generator combination to deliver dynamic drum and percussion sounds.

DrumSynth allows users to quickly customize each of the 8 engines with an unprecedented level of sonic manipulation. Precise fine-tuning can be applied to synthesized drum sounds with a selection of effects and processors, including transient shaping, tuning, EQ, compression, reverb and delay. Numerous textures within each sound engine can be used to add even more character to the sound. Users can even access all 8 engines in Multi mode, where sounds can be mixed and balanced in tandem, which can then be saved as a custom user presst.
