Inside the Allen & Heath QU-7D is a 96kHz-capable FPGA core that ensures extremely precise audio processing with minimal latency. The mixer offers 36 input channels (32x mono/linkbar, 2x stereo, 1x talkback), 12 mix busses (6x mono, 6x stereo), 4 matrix outputs and a stereo main out. A total of 32 XLR/jack combo inputs, 2 stereo line inputs (TRS), 20 XLR outputs, 2 TRS outputs and an AES3 digital output are available.
The integrated Dante interface (16x16 @48/96kHz) enables seamless integration into larger network systems - ideal for complex audio infrastructures, broadcast environments or networked installations. With the 128x128 SLink port, the QU-7D can also be combined with the Allen & Heath Everything I/O family (e.g. AR2412, AB168), making it flexibly expandable.
Precise control is provided by a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen, supplemented by 33 motorized 100mm faders on four freely configurable levels. Eight freely assignable SoftKeys and the chromatic channel level LEDs facilitate orientation in live operation and in everyday studio life.
The QU-7D offers comprehensive recording options: 32x32 tracks can be transferred directly to a DAW or digital recording device via the integrated USB-C audio interface. Alternatively, multi-channel recordings with up to 16x16 tracks at 96kHz or 32x32 at 48kHz can be made directly to an SD card - without the need for an external computer. A USB-A connection is also available for simple stereo recording or data backup.
These functions make the mixer a versatile tool for sound engineers who want to realize both live recordings and studio productions with one device.
The QU-7D is DEEP Processing ready and brings high-quality channel strips, compressors and EQs directly to the QU platform - without external DSPs or plug-ins. Taken from the dLive series, these sound processing tools can be activated on a channel-by-channel basis and offer comprehensive control over the sound - perfect for fine-tuned mixes and live mixing at a professional level.
The integrated 32-channel Automatic Mic Mixer (AMM) is ideal for conferences, panel discussions and voice broadcasting. It works latency-free and automatically ensures clear speech intelligibility with several microphones open at the same time. This workflow is supported by intelligent assistance tools such as the Gain Assistant and the Feedback Assistant, which speed up the setup and optimize the sound check - a real advantage for time-critical productions.
