Arturia has been an established name in the world of music production for years. There are also functions such as scale quantization with user-defined scales, a flexible arpeggiator with seven modes and five octaves of range, as well as a chord mode that enables creative playing at the touch of a button.
A special highlight is the 24-voice polyrhythmic drum sequencer, which can directly control modular or analog drums via 8 separate drum gate outputs. The various playback modes - including forward, two random modes, pattern randomness and quantized/unquantized recording - open up a multitude of possibilities for real-time performance and sound design.
The user interface has been redesigned for the Chroma version and features electrifying blue LEDs, elegant pots and individually configurable track colors. A high-contrast OLED display provides all relevant information clearly and legibly. Thanks to the updated firmware, users benefit from additional functions and even better system stability.
The connection options also leave nothing to be desired: 4 CV outputs, 4 gate outputs, 4 modulation outputs and 8 drum gate outputs offer full control over modular synthesizers. Two MIDI-outs, one MIDI-in, USB-MIDI and clock synchronization enable seamless integration into digital and analogue setups. The controller mode and five freely assignable encoders further expand the creative possibilities. An integrated metronome speaker with line output, a sustain pedal input and the included power supply make the KeyStep Pro Chroma an all-round carefree package.
