The booklet contains 14 pages of works for piano solo by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. This is a special edition at a jubilee price.
Bärenreiter has much in common with Mozart. The genius composer's complete works have been published in Bärenreiter's benchmark New Mozart Edition. In addition, the vast majority of compositions are available in practical Urtext editions based on the musical text of the New Mozart Edition. There is hardly a musical field in which Mozart did not achieve outstanding results in his short life, including piano music. His concertos, sonatas and works for four hands, as well as many individual pieces, are part of the standard repertoire.
This collection turns to the young composer with three short pieces taken from the "Notebooks of the Mozart Siblings" (BA09177). The Fantasia in D minor K. 397 (probably completed by August Eberhard Müller) and the Gigue in G major K. 574 from the volume "Einzelstücke für Klavier" (BA05745) show the mature composer. The booklet is published as part of a series of popular works from the Bärenreiter program to mark the 100th anniversary of the publishing house.
