Boss HM-2W Heavy Metal Product Details

Description

The BOSS HM-2 Heavy Metal was produced from 1983 to 1991 and is still a legend among distortion pedals. After three decades, the legendary floor pedal is reissued in a special Waza Craft edition. The HM-2W delivers the authentic analog sound of the original, enhanced with numerous modern features and details for even better performance.

The standard mode of the pedal, reproduces the response and sound of the original absolutely authentic. However, modern adjustments have significantly reduced the noise floor and increased the maximum level by 3 dB. With all controls at their stops, the typical sound of the original unit is created, but the precise controls for distortion and coloring, offer a wide variety of sounds for more genres. The Custom mode of the HM-2W offers the same sound characteristics as the Standard mode, but adds an extra layer in all areas. The Drive stage delivers a bit more gain for even more foundation, attack and sharpness. In addition, the low and high mids have been adjusted to deliver more sonority and definition. Not only the sound has been modeled after the original, but also the distinctive orange and black design. The placement of all the knobs and the size of the unit are also consistent with the original. Each Waza Craft pedal has a mode switch for an extended range. On the HM-2W, this has been moved to the top to retain the authentic knob layout of the HM-2.
