The GB54P is a tribute to the classic P-style bass with its typically wiry rock sound, which appeals to beginners as well as amateurs and professionals with its excellent price/performance ratio. The alder body delivers a very balanced sound with a slight emphasis on the upper mids. It is one of the most ideal tonewoods for electric basses and has been in use since the 1950s. The typical 240mm/ 9.45" vintage radius of the fingerboard gives the GB54P the classic feel. The simple bridge without bells and whistles is responsible for the classic P-Style sound. The proven vintage bridge does what it's supposed to do without bells and whistles, while delivering the classic tone that P-basses are known for. Jatoba is a very dense and hard wood, ideal for use as a fingerboard. Jatoba provides a tonal strong foundation and focused high mids. With a saddle width of 41mm, the neck has a very balanced string spacing and thus excellent playability. The new neck-corpus transition is designed to facilitate access to the top of the fingerboard, increase playing comfort and avoid unfavorable wrist and finger positions.
