The cre8audio NiftyKEYZ is much more than a conventional MIDI keyboard. It combines a full-fledged Eurorack modular synthesizer controller with an expressive, modern performance keyboard. Perfect for musicians who want to play and control both monophonic and polyphonic setups in a modular context.
At the heart of the NiftyKEYZ are its four CV and Gate outputs, which can be flexibly used for monophonic or polyphonic applications. Each of these outputs can be controlled separately or together via the keyboard or MIDI. This allows for individual zones on the keyboard or the distribution of multiple voices across the entire playing system—ideal for complex setups and creative playing techniques.
The powerful MIDI implementation also allows it to be used as a versatile MIDI controller. Via MIDI Thru (which also serves as MIDI Out), the device can be integrated into existing setups or used to control external MIDI hardware.
NiftyKEYZ offers a comprehensive set of performance tools that benefit live musicians and sound designers alike. A multimode arpeggiator, a synchronizable multimode LFO, aftertouch, velocity, an internal clock generator, and an expression output open up new possibilities for expression and control. The Sustain/Latch mode allows notes to be held—even without pressing keys—and is a particularly useful tool in ambient or drone setups.
A special highlight is the clock reset output, which synchronizes analog sequencing via MIDI clock. This allows NiftyKEYZ to act as a bridge between the digital and analog worlds—MIDI becomes the control center for the entire CV infrastructure.
