The Germanium Filter is Death By Audio's self-professed love affair with the sound of a broken speaker cone. The pedal combines a classic recording console-style drive circuit with obsolete germanium transistors and an extremely intense filter section. The result is a rich, powerful distortion that really comes through in any grateful context. The filter control works in an extremely unconventional way, ranging from a 'bottomless' sub-bass boost to sharp, screaming highs - with an incredibly wide range of different sounds in between. This makes the Germanium Filter the perfect tool for finding the sweet spot of your own gear and emphasizing it perfectly - on stage, in the studio and in every other conceivable situation. The gain range starts with a 'dirty' boost and goes through a rich overdrive and an aggressive distortion to 'sawing' fuzz tones.
