The Dynacord SUB 118 is a vented direct radiating made with the high-power DYNACORD LFS 18700 woofer. As reflex system, the new patented High-Speed-Laminar-Vent (HSLV) method is used. Compared to conventional bass reflex ports, the flow losses and significantly lower air noise at HSLV. High sound pressure levels at low frequencies with much less distortion
transferred to a conventional bass reflex ports. The Dynacord SUB118 is a passive filter to remove the high frequencies. The Dynacord SUB 118 can therefore be directly used as a bass extension parallel to Appropriate fullrange cabinets, eg Dynacord D 15-3. The Dynacord SUB 118 and the Fullrangebox in this case are simply connected with a regular Speakon cable, further measures are not required. The Dynacord LFS 18700 Woofer is through the fully electronic Voice Coil Tracking Protection protected precise against thermal overload. Extremely powerful amps can therefore be used to achieve maximum dynamic range
without any thermal overload of the voice coil in non-controlled too. In the case of an overload, the power will be reduced "soft" to safe levels. Annoying perceptible shutdowns do not occur. The case of the Dynacord SUB 118 is made of 18mm birch plywood.
All corner joints are grooved and glued. The cabinet surface is coated with a 2-component paint. The acoustic foam front on a powder-coated steel grille protects the DYNACORD LFS 18700 woofer from mechanical damage during transport and bad environmental conditions. The connector panel
uses two 4-pole Speakon connectors for reliable connection is equipped for easy chaining(Input/Thru). The pin assignment is 1+/1-. The pins 2+/2- are also connected by two terminals. In the shell top handle is a recessed threaded rod for a high stand. Suitable fullrange cabinets can be placed directly on the Dynacord SUB 118. Such structures need to expertly secured against Fall. Eight large rubber feet ensure a secure footing. Two side-mounted carrying handles, 2 handles and 4 robust wheels on the back ensure an safer and easier transport.
