At low gain settings, the warm, growly overdrive tone of the original is retained, but as soon as the gain control is turned past 12 o'clock, the Blumes unfolds its unique character and brings out a new sound dimension.
The purely analog signal path with soft clipping gives the overdrive a smooth, harmonic distortion that shines especially in combination with a good tube amplifier. The bipolar power supply increases the headroom and gives the sound more dynamics and clarity.
