The Electro Harmonix Big Muff Pi 2 is a modern reinterpretation of a legendary fuzz sound. Based on a previously unreleased circuit from the late 70s, this pedal combines the classic Big Muff character with its own, rougher and more dynamic sound. The circuit was originally developed by Bob Myer, a long-time developer at Electro-Harmonix, and later reconstructed by Josh Scott (JHS Pedals) from a hand-drawn circuit diagram.
The result is a unique fuzz sound with singing sustain, powerful bass and a brilliant, slightly harsh treble range. The Big Muff Pi 2 stays true to the classic Big Muff DNA, but brings a slightly more aggressive response and more dynamics.
The pedal has the tried and tested three controls Volume, Tone and Sustain. These can be used to set both moderate fuzz sounds and extreme distortion settings.
The Big Muff Pi 2 has a true bypass footswitch with two operating modes. A normal click activates the pedal permanently (latching mode). If the switch is held down, the effect is only activated temporarily - ideal for short fuzz bursts while playing.
The pedal comes in the popular compact Nano housing from Electro Harmonix. The artwork is by artist Daniel Danger and gives the effect pedal an unmistakable design.
