As lead guitarist of Metallica, the greatest heavy metal band of all time, Kirk Hammett has inspired generations of musicians over the past 40 years. His solos make up Metallica's dominant sound, and he has relied on ESP for decades to build guitars that meet his standards. The LTD KH-V model is the latest addition to the Kirk Hammett Signature Series. The KH-V features a neck-through-body construction with an extra-thin U-shaped three-piece maple neck and a 25.5" scale Korina body. The macassar ebony fingerboard has pearloid wave inlays and 24 extra jumbo frets. The KH-V's sound is powered by a set of Kirk's signature EMG Bone Breaker pickups, with the BB-B ceramic bridge and BB-N Alnico 5 neck pickup for crisp, punchy leads or smooth, rounded rhythm tones with just one switch. Controls on the KH-V include Volume, Tone, and a three-way pickup selector switch. Other pro features include a TonePros bridge with string-thru body and LTD locking tuners. ESP deluxe hardshell case included.
