The Player Jazzmaster is in a special position: it has a fully-fledged acoustic character paired with electric power - ideal for creative sound blends, spontaneous genre changes and new forms of expression.
Whether live, in the studio or when songwriting - this model gives you access to a huge cosmos of sound. With just a few knobs, you can control whether your sound is warm and acoustic, clear and bell-like or powerful and distorted. The playing feel always remains familiar - typical Fender.
The Acoustasonic Player Jazzmaster has a body made of mahogany with a top made of solid Sitka spruce. This combination of woods delivers a warm basic tone with clear trebles and pronounced sustain. The slim body with a depth of only 44.45 mm lies lightly and comfortably on the body, while the contoured back and forearm rest further increase playing comfort.
The design is based on the legendary Jazzmaster shape, but has been specially adapted to optimize acoustic resonance and ergonomics. Inside, the Transverse Bracing ensures structural stability and balanced vibration characteristics. A special feature is the WaterFall Sound Port, which ensures natural, spatial sound radiation - both acoustically and amplified.
At the heart of the electronics is the combination of a Fishman under-saddle piezo pickup and a Fender Acoustasonic Shawbucker in the magnet position. This dual pickup configuration allows for an unprecedented variety of sounds - from acoustic-warm to electric-edgy. The sounds can either be called up individually or blended continuously using the blend control.
The 3-way switch offers three central sound ranges, while the "blend" control crossfades between the pickups - ideal for musicians who want to switch between sound textures during a song. The electronics are powered by a simple 9-volt battery, which is easy to replace.
