Intense, sinister and menacing, the Jim Root Jazzmaster is arguably the most minimalist version produced in the entire fifty-year history of this model. At the behest of the hunky guitarist from Slipknot and Stone Sour, the 2-channel circuits and rows of knobs disappeared. The fret markers and enormous chrome bridge are also a thing of the past. Honestly, pretty much everything that makes up a typical Jazzmaster guitar is gone. Instead, there are fearsome EMG® humbuckers (neck 60, bridge 81) with brushed nickel covers, a 3-way switch, a single volume knob, and a Stratocaster® hardtail bridge.
In addition, the Jim Root Jazzmaster got a mahogany body with a comfortably shaped neck junction, a matte maple neck in a modern C-profile with a large headstock and ebony fingerboard with a compound radius (12"-16"), 22 jumbo frets and - very importantly - no fret markers. The locking tuners are offset. Hardware and pickup frame were designed in black, matching the matte black nitro finish in Flat Black. Along with it you get a black tweed case with red lining, strap and strap locks, cable and polishing cloth.
