The Fender Limited Edition Mark Speer Stratocaster Maple Natural electric guitar was developed in close collaboration with the guitarist from the band Khruangbin. Mark Speer is considered one of the most creative and independent guitarists of his generation. With his mixture of soul, psychedelic, funk and world music, he has developed an unmistakable style - and it is precisely this style that is reflected in this signature model.
The guitar impresses with its unusual pickup configuration, a natural finish with translucent ash grain and immense tonal versatility. It is made for players who work with subtle nuances and clear tone, but also need powerful vintage humbucker sounds - all packed into a classy Stratocaster with custom details.

The body of the guitar is made from selected ash, which is known for its distinctive grain and balanced tone. The transparent natural finish with high-gloss polyester lacquer perfectly accentuates this grain. In combination with the maple neck, a brilliant, overtone-rich basic character with a quick response is created.
The neck in the "Custom C" profile sits comfortably in the hand - ideal for longer sessions or detailed passages. With a 7.25" radius and 21 jumbo frets, the maple fingerboard offers a perfect balance between traditional feel and modern requirements. Black dot inlays and side markers provide good orientation.
The pickups on this Stratocaster are as exceptional as the artist who inspired them. The neck and bridge are fitted with DiMarzio® Pro Track™ DP188 pickups - mini-humbuckers with a warm, broad vintage tone that is ideal for smooth, effect-enhanced sounds. The center pickup is a classic vintage-style '70s single-coil Strat®, with bell-like highs and clear transients that are the perfect complement.
It is switched via a classic 5-way blade with interesting phase combinations: In position 2 (bridge + middle) the pickups are in phase, while position 4 (middle + neck) is deliberately switched "out of phase" - ideal for floating, nasal funk or indie sounds. The control arrangement with master volume and two tone controls allows a differentiated sound design.
The vintage-style tremolo with six riders offers classic Strat vibrato effects and runs over Graph Tech® TUSQ string riders and string trees - which not only ensures good overtones, but also high tuning stability, even with intensive use. The flatwound strings (.010-.042) further emphasize the warm, overtone-rich character of this guitar.
