Description

Fender Player II Mustang Bass PJ Aquatone Blue Electric Bass Guitar

The Fender Player II Mustang® Bass PJ is a modern short-scale bass that combines classic Fender character with contemporary features. It is aimed at musicians who are looking for a versatile, compact yet assertive electric bass that blends effortlessly into a wide variety of musical styles. With its iconic Mustang® design, balanced sound and high playability, this bass inspires musicians to develop new ideas and implement musical impulses directly.

The alder body forms the tonal basis of the Player II Mustang® Bass PJ. Alder is known for its balanced tone with clear trebles, present mids and a solid bass foundation. In combination with the high-quality gloss polyester finish and the elegant Aquatone Blue color, the result is an instrument that is both visually and sonically impressive. The compact Mustang® body shape also ensures a high level of playing comfort, especially during longer sessions or on tight stages.

Comfortable neck and balanced playability

The neck in the modern "C" profile is made of maple and has a satin urethane finish on the back, while the front and headstock are finished in gloss urethane. This combination ensures a pleasantly fast playing feel and comfortable handling. The slab rosewood fingerboard with a radius of 9.5 inches (241 mm) and gently rounded edges supports precise fingering and fluid movements across the entire fingerboard. With 19 medium jumbo frets, the bass offers sufficient space for clean intonation and controlled playing.

The short-scale scale of 30 inches (762 mm) makes the Player II Mustang® Bass PJ particularly accessible. It makes it easier to grip, reduces string tension and supports a relaxed playing feel without sacrificing assertiveness or tonal depth. The synthetic bone nut also contributes to stable tuning and even vibration transmission.

Versatile PJ sound for numerous styles

A key feature of this bass is the PJ pickup configuration. The Player Series Alnico V split-coil Precision Bass® pickup in the middle position delivers a powerful, warm fundamental tone with rich low mids. It is complemented by the Player Series Alnico V single-coil Jazz Bass® pickup on the bridge, which provides clear highs and a precise response. Both pickups can be selected individually or together via the 3-way toggle switch, creating a wide sound palette - from classic Precision sounds to crunchy Jazz Bass characters. The simple control via Master Volume and Master Tone enables quick and intuitive sound shaping.

The hardware is consistently designed for reliability. The 4-saddle standard bridge with notched "barrel" steel string saddles allows precise adjustment of string action and intonation. Open vintage-style tuners ensure stable tuning and emphasize the classic Fender look. Further details such as the three-ply parchment pickguard, black pickup covers and the nickel/chrome hardware finish round off the overall look.

The Fender Player II Mustang® Bass PJ Aquatone Blue is a versatile short-scale bass that combines the coveted Fender sound, authentic look and modern playability in one instrument. It is equally suitable for beginners, experienced bassists and anyone looking for a compact, powerful-sounding bass for a wide range of musical applications.
