The poplar body has the classic Jazz Bass® shape and is finished with a high-gloss polyester finish in stylish 3-color sunburst. This combination not only gives the instrument a high-quality appearance, but also a pleasantly low weight for comfortable playing over long periods of time.
The maple neck in a comfortable "C" profile is combined with a maple fingerboard for a crisp, brilliant tone. The neck has a satin urethane finish on the back and a glossy headstock surface - for an elegant finish with a grippy feel. With 20 medium jumbo frets on a 9.5" fingerboard radius, the Jazz Bass offers optimum conditions for fast, precise playing and clean intonation.
The SS pickup configuration consists of two ceramic Jazz Bass® single coils - one in the neck position, one in the bridge position. These deliver the typical, versatile Jazz Bass sound: powerful, defined and yet flexible. Two separate volume controls allow you to mix the pickups individually, while the master tone control allows additional sound shaping - ideal for all styles of music from funk to jazz to rock.
The 4-saddle standard bridge ensures reliable string guidance and precise intonation adjustment. The vintage-style tuning machines guarantee easy and precise tuning, while the synthetic bone nut contributes to sound transmission and tuning stability. The bass is strung ex works with Nickel Plated Steel strings (.045-.105) - a common all-round string set, ideal for beginners.
