The Furch Vintage 1 OM-SM acoustic guitar is a tribute to traditional guitar making - reinterpreted with modern technology and precise workmanship. This fully solid instrument combines a high-quality Sitka spruce top with African mahogany back and sides. The result is a balanced, mellow sound with present mids, warm bass and slightly accentuated highs - ideal for fingerstyle, acoustic song accompaniment and dynamic strumming.
The OM body shape (Orchestra Model) gives the guitar a balanced projection with a clear response and excellent playing comfort. The authentic vintage look is rounded off by the combination of walnut inlays, ornate tortoiseshell binding and the high-quality full-pore vintage satin finish. This guitar is aimed at guitarists who want to see tradition, character and modern sound combined in one instrument.
Like all models in the Vintage series, the Furch Vintage 1 OM-SM acoustic guitar also benefits from the innovative Furch top voicing. Each individual top is individually processed and optimized for tonal efficiency. The precise adjustment of structural rigidity, dynamics, volume and tonal balance ensures a clear, expressive and lively sound across the entire frequency spectrum.
The combination of spruce and mahogany gives the guitar a warm, organic basic character with a very musical overtone response. Fingerpicking and singer-songwriter styles in particular benefit from the response and tonal balance of this instrument.
The full-pore vintage finish is an ultra-thin, open-pore satin varnish that not only preserves the natural resonance of the wood, but also audibly enhances it. At the same time, it allows the grain of the tonewoods used to come into its own. In combination with the traditional design and the carefully selected decorative elements, the result is an instrument with an elegant appearance and powerful acoustic performance.
The elaborate tortoiseshell binding, the five-layer top ornamentation and the double-crafted rosette with walnut inlay and black and white edging emphasize the visual appeal of this classic model. The transparent pickguard protects the top without detracting from the aesthetics.
The neck of the Furch Vintage 1 OM-SM is made of African mahogany and is equipped with the tried-and-tested Furch Soft V-profile. The full-pore smooth-slide satin finish ensures a smooth playing feel without any annoying resistance. The ebony fingerboard with a radius of 400 mm offers precise control and comfortable ergonomics over the entire scale length.
White dot markings on the front and sides of the fingerboard ensure optimum orientation in all lighting conditions. The nut width is 45 mm, with 43 mm or 48 mm versions optionally available. Precise intonation and stable tuning are ensured by the fully compensated TUSQ nut, ebony bridge with matching ebony bridge pins and the high-quality Gotoh SE700 nickel-patina tuners with a gear ratio of 1:15.
