Made from a solid AAA Sitka spruce top and solid Indian rosewood back and sides of the same tonewood class, the Vintage 2 OM-SR delivers a rich, clear sound with brilliant highs, a powerful bass foundation and finely tuned mids. The exclusive full-pore vintage finish with a hand-polished surface not only gives the guitar its elegant, matt patina, but also optimizes the tonal resonance.
At the heart of the tonal quality of the Furch Vintage 2 OM-SR acoustic guitar is the unique tuning process of the soundboard. Each individual soundboard is carefully tuned to its structural properties. The precise control of dynamics, volume, tone balance and stiffness ensures a crystal-clear, dynamic sound with a nuanced overtone spectrum. The result is a sound that is completely convincing both in quiet passages and with a powerful attack.
The combination of spruce and rosewood ensures a powerful basic character with a tight bass response, brilliant trebles and a defined, balanced overall sound. The OM body shape brings out this tone in a particularly focused way - direct, sensitive and rich in detail.
The Furch Vintage 2 OM-SR not only impresses acoustically, but also visually across the board. The hand-polished full-pore vintage finish gives the instrument an elegant, silky sheen with a fine surface texture. The top is decorated with an artfully crafted herringbone pattern, which is framed by a body binding made of artificial ivory.
Further visual highlights include the double soundhole rosette with abalone inlays, a pickguard in tortoiseshell design with transparent spout and the elegant fingerboard inlays in the form of diamonds made of white mother-of-pearl. The design is rounded off by the ivory-look fingerboard and headstock binding and the gold-plated Gotoh SE700 tuners with a patina finish.
The neck of the Vintage 2 OM-SR is made from African mahogany and features the tried-and-tested Furch Soft V-profile, which, in combination with the full-pore smooth-slide satin finish, offers a smooth, grippy playing feel. The scale length is 650 mm, the ebony fingerboard with a radius of 400 mm is perfectly tuned for demanding playing.
A fully compensated TUSQ nut and an ebony bridge with ebony pins ensure the best intonation. The Gotoh SE700 machine heads with gold patina finish offer a precise 1:15 ratio for reliable, accurate tuning. The factory-fitted D'Addario XSAPB1253 strings optimally support the fine-tuning of the instrument's sound.
