With the Ibanez AEWC11-DVS Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Ibanez is introducing an innovative instrument specifically designed for electric guitarists looking for an acoustic guitar with a familiar playing feel and a modern look. This guitar combines the playability and sleek ergonomics of an electric guitar with the natural sound of an acoustic guitar—ideal for musicians who want to switch effortlessly between both worlds.
The eye-catching Dark Violin Sunburst High Gloss Finish and the distinctive single-cutaway body shape not only make the AEWC11-DVS a real head-turner, but also provide comfortable access to the upper frets. Equipped with a high-quality Fishman® Sonicore pickup and the Ibanez AEQ-SP1 preamp with built-in tuner, this guitar is perfect for live performances as well as home studio use.
Ibanez is known worldwide for its high-quality electric guitars, which are particularly popular among rock and metal guitarists. But the Japanese manufacturer also demonstrates what modern instrument design is capable of in the realm of acoustic guitars. With the AEWC series, a concept was developed that is explicitly aimed at electric guitarists looking for an acoustic companion with familiar playing characteristics.
The Ibanez AEWC11-DVS is a prime example of this philosophy: a slim, ergonomically designed body, a flat neck with a comfortable scale length, and a sound that impresses both acoustically and when amplified. It combines form and function at the highest level—while offering an attractive price-to-performance ratio.
The guitar features the modern AEWC body style with a single cutaway, which allows for a comfortable playing position whether sitting or standing. The cutaway makes it easy to reach the higher frets, which is particularly advantageous for soloists and electric guitarists.
The top is made of spruce, a popular tonewood for acoustic guitars known for its clarity and balanced response. The back and sides are made of Sapele—a tonewood with properties similar to mahogany that delivers warm mids and a rounded tonal character.
The neck is made of nyatoh and features the flat profile typical of AEWC, enabling fast and precise playing—similar to the neck profile of many electric guitars. The fingerboard and bridge are made of walnut, which is not only visually appealing but also contributes to the sound quality.
The scale length is 634 mm, and the nut width is 43 mm, which corresponds to the standard of many acoustic-electric guitars and thus ensures a familiar playing feel. With 20 frets, a generous range is available—ideal for modern playing styles.
The AEWC11-DVS is amplified via the Fishman® Sonicore pickup system in combination with the Ibanez AEQ-SP1 preamp, which features a built-in tuner. This combination delivers a natural, powerful sound during live performances and can be finely tuned via the preamp. The chrome die-cast tuners offer reliable tuning stability and are built to last with daily use.
The Ibanez AEWC11-DVS is the perfect choice for guitarists coming from an electric guitar background who are looking for an acoustic guitar with a familiar playing feel. Its ergonomic design, slim neck, cutaway for comfortable playing, and high-quality electronics make it the ideal companion for stage and studio performances.
The instrument also impresses in terms of sound: the spruce top delivers brilliance and dynamics, while the sapele back and sides provide warmth and depth. Whether as a second instrument for acoustic parts or as a central tool for singer-songwriters—the AEWC11-DVS represents a modern acoustic guitar with a clear focus on playability and versatility.
If you’re looking for a stylish, modern instrument that’s easy to play, versatile, and delivers a strong performance on stage, the Ibanez AEWC11-DVS is the right choice for you.
