Description

The headless construction of the EHB and the specially designed body allow the player a similar playing position when sitting or standing. The upper half of the back of the body is beveled, placing the bass slightly closer to the player's body for better control and a more ergonomic feel. The contoured, ergonomic design and chambered body make for a lightweight, well-balanced and comfortable instrument that's great for long sets or practice sessions. A stunning poplar burl top and a select, lightweight African mahogany body provide a warm tone with rich resonance. The back of the body features additional carving behind the lower horn to facilitate access to the upper frets. The 9-piece panga panga/walnut neck with the panga panga fingerboard ensures outstanding tone response, tight basses and more sustain. Luminescent dot inlays on the sides ensure clear visibility in dark environments. The single-coil Nordstrand™ Big Split pickups feature split coils with hum suppression for less noise. Their tonal character is a hybrid P/J style, offering a rich and strong, yet balanced tone that suits different playing styles well. The Vari-mid 3-band EQ features a variable mid-frequency control that allows you to dial in an incredibly wide range of sounds. There's also an EQ bypass switch for passive operation, with the treble control acting as a passive tone control when the EQ is bypassed. The MR5HS bridge was designed specifically for the EHB basses and offers a wide intonation range. Each bridge section is independently and securely attached to the body to ensure maximum vibration transmission, and the saddles are adjustable for +/-1.5mm string spacing to meet each bassist's individual string spacing requirements, regardless of their playing style. Teflon washers are used on each tuner for a smooth tuning action.
