Manufacturer: Ibanez – Innovation with Character

For decades, Ibanez has stood for creative guitar designs, technical innovation, and a deep understanding of the needs of modern musicians. The Iceman series enjoys cult status and offers a stylish alternative to classic electric guitar shapes—with a focus on playing enjoyment, expression, and visual presence.

The IC420FM-TBG proves that tradition and progress don’t have to be mutually exclusive. This model draws on the DNA of the original and complements it with modern features, ergonomic playing comfort, and an impressive look that stands out from the ordinary.

Technical Details: Stylish, Solid, Fun to Play

The body is crafted from lightweight okoumé, which is characterized by warm mids and pleasant resonance. The striped maple top not only provides a vibrant look but also lends the sound additional clarity and brilliance. The Transparent Blue Gradation finish transitions from dark blue at the edges to a lighter blue toward the center, allowing the maple’s grain to shine through stylishly—a true eye-catcher with character.

The glued 3-piece okoumé neck offers stable vibration transmission and comfortable playability all the way up to the highest registers. The IC neck profile, with a thickness of 20 mm at the first and 22 mm at the twelfth fret, ensures comfortable handling for both rhythm and lead playing. The scale length of 628 mm (24.75") allows for easy bending and a comfortable playing feel with more classical playing styles.

The inlaid Jatoba fretboard offers a full, focused tone, and its density provides a direct playing feel. The fretboard radius of 305 mm is ideal for fast position playing and clear articulation. 22 medium frets ensure precise fingering, while the acrylic block inlays emphasize the classic look. The plastic nut with a width of 43 mm rounds out the comfortable setup.

The tone is provided by two Super 80 humbuckers—tried-and-true classics from the Ibanez lineup with a powerful, clear tone. They deliver both powerful rhythm sounds and singing leads while always retaining a certain vintage character. With two volume and two tone controls, as well as a 3-way switch, you can flexibly shape the tone—ideal for rock, blues, hard rock, and more.

The Gibraltar Performer Bridge offers excellent tuning stability, sustain, and a comfortable hand rest. Combined with the Quick Change III Tailpiece, changing strings is quick and easy—perfect for musicians who perform live regularly. The Ibanez tuners and the elegant gold hardware round out the overall look and functionality.

The guitar comes factory-strung with a .010–.046 string set and includes a matching gig bag for safe transport and storage.
