The Adam Blackstone "Gladys" Jackson Pro Series Signature Concert Bass takes the famous Jackson shaping and interprets it in a modern way. The features are carefully tailored to Blackstone's playing habits and requirements. And why is the five-string called "Gladys"? Because Blackstone dedicates this instrument to his grandmother: Mrs. Gladys Jackson.
The 34" long scale bass develops sensational sustain thanks to the combination of a highly resonant poplar body and graphite-reinforced bolt-on neck. With a custom neck profile in a 9"-16" compound radius, maple fingerboard and 21 jumbo frets, it plays extremely precisely and smoothly.
The five-string woofer gets its voice from two custom Jackson BBE J-style pickups, which have been tuned to the artist's individual specifications and, in conjunction with the active 3-band EQ, develop a creamy, powerful sound spectrum. A Jackson Hi-Mass Bridge provides noticeable pressure, amplifying the attack and extending the sustain without changing the tone. Open tuners keep the tuning stable and enable ideal string tension, which stabilizes the sustain and makes the attack even crisper.
Visually, the Adam Blackstone "Gladys" Jackson Pro Series Signature Concert Bass is elegant in black and creamy white with golden accents. A creamy white pickguard sits on the body in the new Black Stone finish. The sophisticated contrasting design continues with black block inlays on the light fingerboard and is rounded off by hardware in a black/gold mix, dome knobs and a matching 4+1 Jackson paddle headstock.
