Keyword style. The body of the new Pro Series Spectra Bass SBP IV is made from a unique laminated wood combination. The multi-layered poplar burl/walnut/maple/walnut/mahogany construction is finished in either Caribbean Blue or Transparent Black Burst. The color-matching headstock was also designed exclusively for this model, with 2x2 tuners and a discreet "J" logo.

The offset body design was based on the needs of professional musicians. The large upper horn balances the instrument perfectly so that it does not tip to one side when played standing up. The five-piece neck (maple/walnut/maple/walnut/maple) is reinforced on the inside with graphite rods, it sits stably in the body and supports a long, consistent sustain. The speed neck profile and a fingerboard made of caramelized Jatoba wood in a 12"-16" compound radius with 24 jumbo frets are a pleasure for the fretting hand. A beautiful visual detail: oval inlays in a dark mother-of-pearl look.

In terms of sound, the Pro SBP IV also delivers everything its elegant appearance promises. It offers a broad sound spectrum that progressive, versatile bassists love. The Nordstrand® SB4 Soapbar single coils on the bridge and neck are fitted with Alnico V magnets, producing a massive, musically powerful sound with plenty of radiance and crisp, bright characteristics. The sound spectrum can be controlled with the active 3-band EQ. The 2-way toggle can be used to bypass the active circuit or switch it to active and route it to the 3-band EQ as well as the blend and volume controls. The 2-way toggle prevents you from suddenly being inaudible when the battery is low. You simply bypass the active circuit and still get enough sound from the instrument, even without battery power. With the additional 3-way toggle, you can activate a specific mid-range spectrum if required, making the sound more concise and "sharper".
