High-quality copper wire as the core material and a thicker dielectric for conductor insulation ensure a reliable signal path. A metallic spiral shield serves as shielding, which is sheathed with a plastic layer to dissipate friction that can otherwise lead to the dreaded microphonics. The material of the outer jacket layer represents a novelty. Despite its thickness of 2 mm (for a total cable cross-section of 6.8 mm), the jacket is characterized by very flexible bending strength, high temperature resistance and extreme durability. The pleasant smoothness makes handling and cleaning the cable after dusty and muddy open airs a breeze. The circular winding in the packaging corresponds to the natural cable twist and thus enables easy unrolling without looping or rippling.
KLOTZ developed special jack plugs for this cable, which are optionally available in straight or angled versions. All plugs have gold-plated contacts as well as indestructible, easy-grip metal housings, spring strain relief and contacts additionally protected by a heat-shrink insulator.
