DANTE Audio Remote Module including Preset Library

The DANTE protocol from the Australian company Audinate has established itself in recent years as a reliable and easy-to-use audio over Ethernet solution both in the installation sector and for complex sound reinforcement tasks. With the DANTE module, which is inserted into the expansion slot of the DA428 or DA230, K.M.E. equips its in-house digital amplifiers for integration into modern audio networks.

Two Gigabit Ethernet ports are available for connection to the DANTE network, which can be configured for redundant operation or as a switch by the user. The DANTE module can receive up to eight digital audio channels from the network. Of these, four channels are available on the power amplifier (for internal use as well as routing to link outputs), and another four channels are made available directly to the outside via two XLR connectors (on the module) in AES/EBU format. This allows the use of a single module for multiple amplifiers. The potential-free NC signal contact is also still available for loop monitoring, especially in fixed installations.

The routing of the audio signals in the DANTE network can be done either with the DANTE Controller Software, via K.M.E. Remote Control in the web browser or directly via the power amplifier menu. In addition to receiving DANTE audio signals, the module also offers the full functionality of the alternatively available TCP/IP network module. This allows virtually all device and unlocked preset parameters to be (remotely) controlled and monitored.
