Korg Poetry Digitalpiano Product Details

Description

With the Poetry, KORG offers a very special digital piano that is aimed specifically at lovers of the music of the world-renowned composer, pianist and piano teacher Frédéric Chopin. The idea behind the development of the Poetry is as unique as it is ingenious: what if you could experience Chopin's music exactly as he himself might have heard it while composing? The production of concert grand pianos has advanced considerably since Chopin's lifetime, which is why the sound of today's instruments can no longer be compared with the sound he himself experienced. In his time in Paris, Chopin played a piano made by the traditional French manufacturer PLEYEL. For this reason, KORG went to great lengths to bring a PLEYEL piano from 1843, the 33rd year of Chopin's life, to Japan, where it was painstakingly restored by specialists using special French parts and brought as close as possible to its original condition. This 80-key instrument was then meticulously sampled in the authentic tuning of 430 Hz for the time and now forms the basis for the Poetry digital piano as the PLEYEL sound. But fans of contemporary piano sounds will also get their money's worth with the Poetry, because in addition to this truly historic sound, there is also another, more modern one in the Poetry: The globally popular Italian concert grand, which was used at the famous Chopin competition in Warsaw. The Poetry thus offers the authentic sound of a PLEYEL piano from Chopin's lifetime as well as that of a modern concert grand piano of today, in addition to 28 other timbres. But the Poetry also has a lot to offer visually, as it is finished in the unique "Poetic Brown" color variant with pronounced wood grain and gold-colored details and thus also resembles the original PLEYEL piano from 1843, whose sound it contains. The instrument is made with the greatest care in Japan and is equipped with an outstanding RH3 keyboard with 88 keys, hammer action and graduated weighting, which means that the keys in the lower registers offer greater resistance than those in the higher registers, providing a particularly authentic concert grand piano experience. The powerful stereo speaker system with 2 x 25 watts of power (RMS) provides a natural and dynamic sound full of expressiveness, as you would expect from an acoustic instrument. Naturally, the Poetry has three pedals with half-pedal support (damper, soft and sostenuto pedals) and thus offers countless possibilities for shaping the sound when playing. The instrument comes with 50 piano pieces by Chopin as demo songs, but the recording function with two parts (for left and right hand) also allows you to record your own playing in the instrument. The integrated Bluetooth audio function also allows you to stream your favorite music to the Poetry's loudspeaker system and, of course, play along with it on the instrument at the same time. Two headphone outputs are available for practicing and for piano lessons, as well as a partner mode in which the keyboard is divided into two equal sections so that the teacher and student can sit next to each other and have the same sound range at their disposal. As a particularly loving detail, the Poetry also comes with a music book with 23 selected piano pieces by Chopin, so that nothing stands in the way of an authentic historical piano experience.
