The four models - Aria (air), Aqua (water), Ignis (fire) and Terra (earth) - are coordinated in their mood and sound structure so that they blend harmoniously together both individually and as an ensemble. Aria embodies the element of air with a clear, light and uplifting sound.

Technical details of the Koshi Aria chime

The Aria model is tuned to the following tone sequence: A - C - E - A - B - C - E - B. This tuning produces an airy, open sound character that is rich in pure overtones and unfolds gently in the room. The eight metal reeds of different lengths are attached to the base of the cylindrical resonator with silver. When struck - whether by a draught or a gentle sweep - harmonic sound waves are created in which the shorter strings become more dominant over time and develop into new fundamental tones - creating a circular flow of sound.

The sound box is made of high-quality bamboo veneer and is treated with natural oil. The wood not only provides a warm look and pleasant feel, but also enhances the resonant properties of the instrument.
