The Lehle P-Split II stands for passive splitting with maximum signal fidelity.
At the heart of the Lehle P-Split II is the Lehle LTHZ high-end transformer, which galvanically isolates the two outputs, thus successfully avoiding ground loops. The Lehle LTHZ was specially designed for use with high-impedance signals, but it also splits low-impedance signals with uncompromising sound quality. The signal can be tapped either balanced or unbalanced at the ISO output. The phase of the input signal can be reversed at the ISO output using a gold-plated phase reversal switch. This prevents phase cancellations from negatively affecting the reproduction of the signal.
The classic application of the Lehle P-Split II is splitting an input signal to the two outputs. In this way, one instrument can be connected to two devices. These can be two amplifiers, for example, or an amplifier and a mixing console or recording unit (PC/DAW). Thanks to the option of tapping the signal symmetrically at the ISO output, the Lehle P-Split II is also excellently suited as a high-quality and compact DI box for all types of signals. Another useful application of the Lehle P-Split II is as an effective suppressor of unwanted humming noises. When connecting two electronic devices, it is not uncommon for background noise to occur, caused by ground loops. The Lehle P-Split II offers a simple but extremely effective solution here by being connected between the two devices. By using the ISO output, both devices are galvanically isolated and this background noise is a thing of the past. By the way: The Lehle P-Split II does not require any power supply!
