No matter what you like to do, whether you're recording, mixing, or mastering, the monitors you hear your track through first are your studio monitors. They are always the first source of reference. M-Audio's BX Series studio monitors build on a legendary history. As early as 2009*, they were among the best-selling monitor speakers. In the D3 generation, M-Audio continues to deliver unique features for musicians and professional recording studios. Dedicated analog amplifiers deliver superior dynamics and sonic accuracy across the frequency spectrum, while Kevlar cone woofers and silk domes with revised waveguide technology deliver full, defined sound.
Maximum Performance -Precise Sound
With an integrated industry-leading 100-watt Class A/B power amplifier, BX5 D3 is among the most powerful in its class, so there's plenty of headroom for even the loudest and most dynamic mix. Experience, thanks to the new optimized waveguide, a wide and exceptional sound image for even more vibrant sound. A new room correction circuit on the rear panel now makes it possible to minimize the influence of distracting bass frequencies - from the basement to the professional studio - without compromising sound quality or stereo imaging.
High-quality components
During the development of the BX5 D3, special attention was paid to first-class parts. High-quality components provide ultra-wide, linear frequency response with minimal distortion and lowest self-noise. Thanks to its 5" (12.7 cm) Kevlar woofer, the BX5 D3 monitor is guaranteed an extremely long life. Kevlar is a particularly suitable material for speaker cones due to its strength and temperature resistance. The tweeter diaphragm is made of real silk, which gives them a smooth sound - quite the opposite of many metal diaphragms of other monitors, which are often of poor quality. To keep distortion to a minimum, the tweeter is completely separated from the rest of the cabinet, providing a balanced frequency response up to 22 kHz. The integrated power amplifier works according to the bi-amping concept, amplifying the tweeter and woofer separately. In conjunction with a finely tuned crossover, this guarantees that only those frequencies that can be optimally reproduced are transmitted in both the high and low frequency ranges. The low frequency cut-off at 2000 Hz ensures a wide-ranging, almost distortion-free signal output within the critical midrange frequencies. As a result, with BX5 D3 you get sonic accuracy even for complex sounds across the entire frequency spectrum.
Innovative enclosure design
The design of the BX5 D3 enclosure is more than just an enclosure. It is designed with all its components in mind for excellent sound reproduction -its rounded corners reduce edge reflections and provide the best possible sound imaging. The special computer-calculated bass reflex port on the back of the monitor is designed to minimize flow noise and resulting distortion, in addition to providing an extended low-frequency range. A completely redesigned custom waveguide around the tweeter provides a wide and accurate soundstage that is free of unwanted dispersion. When listening, the ideal, central position (the so-called sweet spot) between the two speakers is particularly important - that's where the stereo imaging is at its best. BX5 D3 is equipped with an LED so you can easily determine the sweet spot. You are in the optimal listening position when the LEDs are at their brightest. In addition, the BX5 D3's legendary front design - M-Audio's famous "keyhole" design - provides more than just an attractive look: this special screwless design ensures that there is no interference or resonance in the speaker.
Designed for professionals - and for beginners
Countless professionals use M-Audio studio monitors to produce and mix - creating the music and sounds we hear every day. Now, with the same design philosophy and technology, everyone can live out their passion for great sound-the BX D3 series makes it possible. With BX5 D3, you'll know exactly what's going on in your mix, allowing you to make better decisions about how to transfer it to various other systems - whether MP3 earphones, car stereo or hi-fi.
