MEINL Sonic Energy 14" Wind Gong Yin & Yang Product Details

Description

MEINL Sonic Energy 14" Wind Gong Yin & Yang – Harmonious Sound Balance with Spiritual Symbolism

The MEINL Sonic Energy 14" Wind Gong Yin & Yang combines powerful sound with the profound symbolism of balance. Traditionally handcrafted in China, this wind gong is made from a specially tuned bronze alloy known for its outstanding resonance. Its nearly flat shape—typical of so-called Feng or sun gongs—allows for an exceptionally broad sound with a long sustain and complex overtones.

When struck gently, the gong produces a grounding, deep fundamental tone, while a vigorous strike generates lively, wave-like overtones. With a diameter of 14 inches (35 cm), this model offers an ideal balance between richness of sound and ease of handling—perfect for meditation, yoga, sound baths, ritual work, and energy practices. The package includes a traditionally tuned mallet and a gong case for safe transport and protection.

Yin & Yang – A Sonic Symbol of Balance

At the center of the gong is the ancient symbol Yin & Yang, which in Chinese philosophy embodies the harmony of opposites. Yin stands for the calm, receptive, and feminine, while Yang represents the active, dynamic, and masculine. Their interplay creates perfect balance—a principle that translates perfectly to sound work.

The MEINL Sonic Energy Wind Gong Yin & Yang expresses this polarity through its sound: deep, calm fundamental tones (Yin) and vibrating, energizing overtones (Yang) create a sonic unity that brings mind, body, and space into balance. Ideal for therapeutic processes, spiritual centering, and conscious sound design.

Traditional Handcrafting and High-Quality Materials

Like all gongs in the MEINL Sonic Energy series, this model is crafted by experienced artisans in China. The special bronze alloy ensures a long-lasting resonance and a balanced sound with subtle dynamics. The precise tuning of diameter and weight guarantees harmonious tonal behavior—ideal for a wide range of applications in sound therapy, group work, or individual meditation.

The included mallet is perfectly matched to the gong and allows for both gentle and powerful strikes. The gong case reliably protects the instrument during transport and storage.

An instrument with meaning and sonic depth

With the MEINL Sonic Energy 14" Wind Gong Yin & Yang, you get a versatile musical instrument that impresses not only with its acoustic qualities but also with its spiritual significance. The gong is ideal for anyone who wants to use sound consciously—whether for relaxation, energy work, as a ritual instrument, or for intentional space design.
