Description

The UMT 70 S condenser microphone has a proven large diaphragm capsule and is characterized by excellent transfer characteristics, high sensitivity and a large signal-to-noise ratio. The UMT 70 S guarantees a clean and discolouration-free sound quality and is suitable for recording instrumental and vocal soloists, primarily in radio and television studios, as well as for high-quality transmissions. The large-area electrode is equipped with two gold-plated plastic membranes. The three directional characteristics omnidirectional, cardioid and eight can be adjusted by applying the appropriate polarization voltages using the switch ring on the lower part of the capsule head.

In the omnidirectional position the frequency response is almost linear, in the cardioid or eight position it has an increase of approx. 4 dB in the 7 kHz range and a reduction of approx. 5 dB at low frequencies. The speaking direction is perpendicular to the microphone axis. The new transformerless circuit concept replaces the usual transformer with a symmetrical output stage and ensures low inherent noise and high dynamic range. For the transmission of very high sound levels it is possible to switch on a 10 dB pre-attenuation. To compensate for the proximity effect, the transmission factor can be reduced in the low-frequency range. The UMT 70 S microphone is equipped with a 3-pin XLR connector for connecting a microphone cable, e.g. C 70. The power supply is provided by the standardized 48 V phantom power according to DIN 45596 and IEC 268-15. The microphone is available in black matt and nickel matt versions.
