The Mipro MU-76A is based on a high-quality electret condenser element with a cardioid polar pattern, which specifically captures sound from the front while simultaneously suppressing unwanted background noise from the sides and rear. A distinctive feature of this capsule is its increased sensitivity of -41 ± 1 dBV/Pa, which enables clear and clean recording even from a greater distance. This makes it ideal for miking choirs, ensembles, or instrumental groups without having to equip each individual element with a separate microphone.
The frequency response from 50 Hz to 20 kHz covers all the important ranges for vocals and instruments. Thanks to the signal-to-noise ratio of over 72 dB and an self-noise level below 21 dB SPL (A-weighted), the MU-76A consistently delivers a clean and interference-free audio signal. The capsule is also capable of handling sound pressure levels up to 147 dB SPL (at 1% THD)—making it ideally suited for dynamic and loud signal sources. The dynamic range is 126 dB, resulting in a highly detailed and natural sound.
Power is supplied via phantom power in the range of 12–52 V DC. Power consumption is 2.0 mA, and the impedance is 200 ohms. The rugged housing features a multi-piece metal grille to protect the sensitive capsule, as well as an integrated 3-stage pop filter that effectively reduces plosive sounds. A vibration absorber minimizes handling noise and impact noise—particularly beneficial for high-movement stage use.
