Description

The 896mk3 is an audio interface, but it is also a 28 * 16 bus digital mixer, complete with equalizer, compressor and reverb. The 896mk3 is actually two devices: an audio interface and a 28 x 16 digital mixer - and all as a 2U unit. Whether you use the 896mk3 as a computer interface or as a standalone unit, it always provides DSP-powered mixer functions and effects (reverb, equalizer and compressor) for all 28 inputs. Simply connect your studio equipment, adjust the levels - and you have the perfect monitoring via the main outputs or the headphone connections.

The 896mk3 Hybrid as your primary audio interface:

Connect all your studio gear: Microphones, guitars, keyboards, drum machines, effects units, etc. All live inputs can be recorded, mixed, controlled and effects applied using the integrated CueMix FX functions - without latency and without burdening your computer's processor.

DSP-based effects:

Apply hardware DSP-based compression, equalization, and reverb individually to all your inputs and outputs - independent of your computer. When recording through the micophone guitar inputs, the 896mk3 gives you 12 dB of additional headroom above digital-zero to avoid digital clipping and artifacts.

CueMix FX Software:

Once you've conveniently programmed the integrated DSP functions in the studio using the CueMix FX software, you can take the 896mk3 on tour - all settings included. If you still want to change something, you can do so quickly at any time even in standalone mode using the LCD menu.

Complete compatibility:

The MOTU 896mk3 offers full compatibility with all popular audio programs on Macintosh and Windows computers using the included WDM/ASIO/CoreAudio drivers. If you are working on a Mac, you can also use the included AudioDesk Workstation. This offers 24-bit recording/playback and editing and 32-bit mixing/mastering.
