The Impact LX mk3 series represents a major step forward, bringing technologies previously reserved for Panorama’s flagship models to the compact class. From the new DAW looper to improved control logic and NKS compatibility—the LX25 MK3 impressively demonstrates that “small” does not mean “simple.”
With its 25 velocity-sensitive synth-style keys, the Nektar Impact LX25 MK3 offers an excellent playing experience in a compact form factor. The new “Clean-Action” keyboard impresses with consistent key resistance and precise response—ideal for expressive performances and fast input. Pitch bend and modulation wheels perfectly complement the keyboard and add an extra layer of expressiveness.
At the heart of the controller is the high-resolution encoder, which operates at 7-bit or 10-bit resolution and can be intelligently assigned via Nektar’s DAW integration. The Select and Page buttons allow for precise control of Mixer, Instrument, and Transport modes, while 8 full-resolution encoders provide sensitive control over parameters.
A particular highlight is the new linear DAW looper—a feature that revolutionizes the creative workflow. Spontaneous ideas can be recorded and looped in a flash without interrupting your inspiration. This is supported by the “Selected Control” feature, which was first introduced in the Panorama CS12 and is now also included in the LX25 MK3.
For rhythm and beat production, there are 8 velocity-sensitive pads with LED lighting. These can be quickly remapped via the keyboard, while pad arrow keys allow you to switch between 8 saved pad maps. The performance functions Scale, Chord, and Hold can also be activated directly via dedicated LED buttons—a handy feature for live performance and creative composition.
The LED segment display provides visual feedback on the current settings, while 6 transport buttons offer direct access to playback, recording, and navigation. Of particular interest to MIDI enthusiasts: The Impact LX25 MK3 is fully programmable via the device itself and can store up to 5 custom presets with encoder, fader, and LED button assignments.
It connects to computers or mobile devices via a modern USB-C port, and a USB-C-to-USB-A cable is included. Power is also supplied via USB. In addition, the device features a 1/4" TS jack for optional footswitches—ideal for live performers who prefer hands-free control.
