As part of the third generation of the Impact LX series, the LX61 MK3 brings numerous technical and functional improvements. The new “Clean-Action” keyboard, high-resolution encoders, robust controls without rubber coating, and creative tools such as Scale, Chord, and Hold make this controller a versatile and reliable partner in the studio and on stage.
The Impact LX mk3 series represents a comprehensive update in the world of MIDI controllers. Nektar has not only optimized hardware quality but also introduced new features that significantly enhance the creative workflow. Particularly noteworthy is the innovative, linear DAW looper, which integrates spontaneous ideas and live recordings directly into the production process—an invaluable advantage for creative minds who want to work quickly and intuitively.
Thanks to its deep DAW integration, the Nektar Impact LX61 MK3 supports nearly all popular music production software—including Ableton Live Suite, Logic Pro, Cubase, FL Studio, Bitwig Studio, Reason, Reaper, Studio One, GarageBand, Cakewalk/Sonar, and Nuendo. The “Selected Control” feature, first introduced on the Panorama CS12, enables even more direct control over selected software parameters and promotes a seamless workflow.
At the heart of the controller is a completely redesigned synth-style keyboard with 61 velocity-sensitive keys. The “Clean-Action” mechanism ensures a balanced, responsive playing feel, making the LX61 MK3 the ideal choice for demanding keyboard parts, chord progressions, and expressive performances.
For real-time control, you have 8 faders (30 mm each), 8 high-resolution encoders, 9 LED-backlit buttons, and a large encoder with a selectable 7-bit or 10-bit resolution. The latter can be assigned additional control functions via the dedicated selection button. The LED segment display provides visual feedback at all times regarding the active mode and control parameters.
The LX61 MK3 also offers extensive navigation capabilities: With 8 navigation buttons, you can control mode changes, track switching, and patch selection, among other functions. The Page button allows you to access different control pages within the DAW—in both Mixer and Instrument modes.
For rhythmic applications, there are 8 velocity-sensitive, LED-backlit pads that can be easily assigned via the keyboard. Using the pad arrow keys, you can conveniently switch between different pad maps, a total of 8 of which can be stored directly in the device. All encoders, faders, and buttons are fully MIDI-programmable—allowing you to perfectly customize the controller to your individual setup.
The LX61 MK3 is powered via USB and features a modern USB-C port. A USB-C-to-USB-A cable is included. In addition, the unit features a 1/4" TS jack for connecting an optional footswitch, as well as a physical on/off switch.
