Neumann precision, superior bass and performance
The KH 150 is a powerful bi-amp studio monitor in the reference class. Its 6.5" woofer in a bass-reflex enclosure provides amazing reproduction at low and high sound pressure levels with unaltered clarity. The DSP-controlled electronics guarantee a linear phase response and enable room-adaptive calibration via Neumann's revolutionary MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment System.
What You Hear Is What You Get
The KH 150 follows the same philosophy as all Neumann studio monitors: highest linearity, lowest distortion, no coloration, and perfect adaptability to all acoustic environments. This allows you to hear every nuance of your tracks. When you no longer have to rely on guesswork, mixing becomes much faster and easier - and, most importantly, more creative: sounds great, but can I do it this way? Are the vocals bright or do they contain too many sibilants? Do I hear too much bass? The KH 150 will tell you. Honestly.
One size bigger
What sets the KH 150 apart from its smaller siblings is its deeper bass response of up to 39 Hz. That's almost as deep as the larger KH 310 model, and it's made possible by the KH 150's novel high-precision 6.5" woofer, housed in a carefully designed bass-reflex enclosure. This makes the KH 150 ideal for urban music, EDM, film music and all styles that require an extended listening spectrum in the low and high ranges. Thanks to powerful amplifiers (145 W/100 W) and sophisticated protection limiters, nothing is lost in terms of clarity even at high sound pressure levels. At the same time, the KH 150 is a true all-rounder that works equally well with any genre from rock to classical, for radio and television, and for voice-over applications. The KH 150 has an exceptional linear frequency response from 39 Hz to 21 kHz (±3 dB). What's more, it also offers a linear phase response! This is evident in the clear midrange tones with amazing transparency and extreme accuracy in the temporal domain, i.e., precise impulse response and high-resolution reverb. This is made possible by the DSP-controlled electronics: demanding crossovers can be achieved and the phase distortions caused by analog filters are avoided. At the same time, the internal DSP sets new standards for tonal consistency, because the KH 150 is designed for extremely low tolerances of no more than ± 0.8 dB! And you can hear that, too: The stereo imaging is razor sharp.
Ready for your room
Even the best speaker sounds only as good as the acoustic environment allows. Neumann's Mathematically Modeled DispersionTM waveguide (MMDTM) ensures a large-area sweet spot and minimal reflections from the mixing console. But the KH 150 goes far beyond that: its internal DSP allows room adjustment using Neumann's revolutionary Automatic Monitor Alignment system. The MA 1 (sold separately) ensures that your DSP-controlled monitors are optimally tuned to your room and perfectly calibrated for your listening position. Even in acoustically optimized rooms, this provides a significant improvement.
Energy efficiency
Neumann sound engineers have worked hard to develop patent-pending amplifier technology that combines outstanding audio quality with Class D energy efficiency. Although the KH 150 amplifiers provide up to 145 W to the 6.5" woofer and up to 100 W to the 1" woofer, they consume only 17 W when idle. In addition, an optional auto-standby mode can be activated to reduce power consumption to 0.3 W when the KH 150 is not in use.
