The NEUTRIK NE8MX6-B is a professional etherCON CAT6A connector for DIY assembly, designed for applications with the highest demands on reliability, performance, and mechanical durability. This model is compatible with common network infrastructures in stage, studio, broadcast, and industrial environments and provides a secure, shielded RJ45 connection with the proven push-lock system.
With its robust metal housing, effective collet strain relief, and compliance with CAT6A standards (ISO/IEC 11801, TIA/EIA 568-C.2), the NE8MX6-B represents a future-proof solution for high-performance network connections. Support for PoE++ according to IEEE 802.3bt (Type 4) also allows for use in power-intensive network setups such as with cameras, audio interfaces, or stage lighting control.
NEUTRIK is known worldwide for its durable, professional connector solutions in event, studio, and media technology. The NE8MX6-B is part of the high-quality etherCON series, which was specifically developed for rugged RJ45 connections in harsh environments. When used with the NE8FDX-P6-W or NE8FDX-Y6-W surface-mount jacks, this connector is even IP65-certified and thus protected against dust and water jets.
Important: The NE8MX6-B is not compatible with the CAT6 flush-mount jacks NE8FDY-C6 and NE8FDY-C6-B. For cables with an insulation diameter ≤ 1.1 mm, the NE8MX6-B-T model is recommended.
The NE8MX6-B features a robust housing made of die-cast zinc (ZnAl4Cu1) with a black chrome finish. The strain relief is made of durable POM plastic, while the contacts are gold-plated—for maximum signal quality and corrosion protection. The connector is suitable for cable diameters ranging from 7.0 to 9.5 mm and supports conductor cross-sections from AWG 24 to AWG 22, for both solid wire (AWG 24/1 – AWG 22/1) and stranded conductors (AWG 24/7 – AWG 22/7).
The permissible insulation diameters of the conductors range from 1.1 to 1.6 mm. The electrical current rating is 1.5 A per contact with a dielectric strength of 1 kVDC and an insulation resistance of more than 0.5 GΩ. The network performance fully meets CAT6A requirements and guarantees data transfer rates of up to 10 Gbit/s.
Thanks to PoE++ compatibility (per IEEE 802.3bt), powering high-performance devices over the network is no problem—an important advantage in modern installations with smart system components.
