The Nord Piano Experience
The Nord Piano 5 comes with an amazing 9 grand pianos, 9 upright pianos, 10 electric pianos plus clavinet, digital pianos and both a marimba and a vibraphone. Even more high-quality piano tones can be downloaded for free from www.nordkeyboards.com.
Two independent pianos and sample synths
The piano and sample synth sections of the Nord Piano 5 each contain two independent layers. The two pianos and two sample synths can be used simultaneously in a variety of split or layer configurations. Combined with the versatile effects routing, numerous combinations can be realized - from classic ensemble settings to lush soundscapes.
Virtual Hammer Action Technology
The unique Virtual Hammer Action Technology, in conjunction with the hammer movements, provides outstanding authenticity and dynamics. The result is a keyboard that delivers dynamic playing with amazing control at any velocity.
Sample Synth Section
Two brand new independent sample synths with greatly expanded memory for the many samples in the Nord Sample Library. The Sample Synth section contains a completely redesigned selection of high-quality sounds from the Nord Sample Library, including exclusively licensed sounds from the legendary Mellotron and Chamberlin, as well as a selection of samples from ProjectSAM's "Symphobia" and "Swing!" libraries. All sounds can be quickly exchanged using the Nord Sound Manager. The sample synth section offers two fully independent layers and is equipped with intuitive controls for attack, decay/release and dynamic velocity. You can also create your own sample instruments using Nord's unique free Sample Editor software for Mac and Windows. The sample synth section features an all-new Unison function that creatively blends multiple sample voices to create intense, ensemble-like sounds. It also features Tru Vibrato, which accurately recreates the unique vibrato characteristics of numerous woodwind, brass and string instruments.
Effects Section
The effects section offers a wide selection of high-quality, directly controllable stereo effects emulated from classic ground effects. An effect can be assigned to any Layer in the Piano or Sample Synth sections as needed. The effects section of Nord Piano 5 includes Tremolo, Phaser, Chorus, Pan, Wah, RM, Flanger, Vibe, EQ, Delay and Reverb. The Reverb effect is available in five different sizes (Booth, Room, Stage, Hall and Cathedral) and adds perfect spaciousness to your sounds. Bright and Dark modes emphasize or cut the high frequencies. The new Chorale option also provides lush modulations.
