With the Oberheim TEO-5 Desktop Module, the renowned synthesizer manufacturer Oberheim continues its tradition of delivering high-quality analog sound generation in sophisticated, practical formats. The desktop module is the compact version of the acclaimed TEO-5 keyboard and has been specially developed for musicians and producers who are looking for the authentic Oberheim sound in a space-saving and mobile device.
The TEO-5 Desktop Module offers the full functionality of the keyboard version - including the characteristic SEM filter, powerful modulation options and an extensive effects section. Despite its smaller size, the user experience is fully retained: All parameters are directly accessible and intuitively controllable via the top control panel. This makes the module suitable for both the studio and the stage and is the ideal solution for anyone who values high-quality vintage sound and maximum flexibility.
Oberheim is a name that has been synonymous with innovation, quality and character in music technology since the 1970s. The early SEM modules, OB-Xa and Matrix synthesizers shaped the sound of countless productions in rock, pop, electronica and soundtrack. After a long break, Oberheim has made an impressive comeback in recent years - including the OB-X8 and TEO-5, which have been celebrated by critics and musicians worldwide.
The Oberheim TEO-5 Desktop Module continues this line consistently. It has been developed with the same care and attention to detail as the larger Oberheim instruments and offers all the sonic and functional strengths in a handy format. The module is produced in collaboration with Sequential - a guarantee for high-quality workmanship, excellent sound quality and well thought-out design.
Inside the TEO-5 desktop module is an analog 5-voice synthesizer based on VCO/VCF. Two voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs) and a sub-oscillator are available for each voice. The oscillators offer simultaneously selectable waveforms - triangle, sawtooth and pulse with variable width - as well as oscillator synchronization and linear through-zero frequency modulation. This combination enables both classic and modern sounds with enormous sonic depth.
At the heart of the Oberheim sound is the legendary SEM multimode filter, which is fully integrated into the TEO-5 desktop module. It offers infinitely variable morphing between low-pass, notch and high-pass, supplemented by a band-pass mode. This flexibility makes the filter a creative tool for complex sound modulation and subtle texture changes.
The modulation section of the TEO-5 is as extensive as it is flexible: two envelopes and two LFOs with tempo synchronization can be freely assigned via a powerful modulation matrix with 19 sources and 64 destinations. This allows you to create dynamic, lively sound sequences - from subtle movements to rhythmically triggered modulation structures.
Another highlight is the vintage button. This function inserts small component variations between the voices, creating the slightly unstable, warm sound character of classic synthesizers. The result is a lively, organic sound reminiscent of the golden era of analog synthesis.
The effects section includes a separate reverb unit with adjustable pre-delay, decay, attenuation and tone control as well as a multi-effect with numerous sound processing options. These include various delay variants (stereo, BBD, tape), chorus, flanger, a classic Oberheim phase shifter, ring modulator, vintage rotary speaker, lo-fi, high-pass filter and powerful distortion. A separate overdrive is also available to make the sound even more organic and powerful.
The performance package is complemented by a classic arpeggiator, a polyphonic step sequencer, portamento with polyphonic support and a unison mode in which up to five voices can be combined. The TEO-5 desktop module is ideally equipped for creative real-time performances and complex patterns.
With 256 user and 256 factory presets, the module offers plenty of storage space for your own sound creations. Thanks to its compact dimensions of 53.3 x 17.8 x 8.9 cm and a weight of just 3.08 kg, it is easy to transport and ideal for mobile setups. Power is supplied via an internal power supply unit with automatic voltage adjustment - perfect for worldwide use.
The Oberheim TEO-5 Desktop Module is the ideal solution for anyone who wants the legendary Oberheim sound in a compact, flexible device. It offers the same synthesis quality and sound characteristics as the TEO-5 keyboard, but remains significantly smaller and more portable - perfect for modern studios, live performers and musicians with limited space.
The combination of analog oscillator architecture, SEM multimode filter, powerful modulation matrix and high-quality effects section makes the module a real sound design tool. Whether warm pads, powerful basses, lively leads or experimental textures - the TEO-5 offers sound depth, expression and flexibility at the highest level.
In a world full of digital emulations, Oberheim's TEO-5 desktop module delivers true analog sound, enriched with modern features and a user-friendly interface. If you are looking for uncompromising sound, inspiring functions and maximum mobility, this desktop synthesizer is a must-have.
