Oktava microphones have become more than just an insider tip. Big studios and live sounders have long since bought the Oktavas alongside their AKG, Neumann, Sennheiser and other microphones because of their outstanding qualities. For some the octavas are, for price reasons, even the only microphones of this quality standard. The price-performance ratio of these microphones, with amazingly luxurious equipment, is simply outstanding.
The capsules are selected, tested, measured and selected as matched pairs in Russia. The selection takes place directly in Oktava factory in Tula. Each capsule comes with an individual frequency diagram, and for each pair of capsules there is an individual stereo frequency diagram where the two capsules are recorded on one sheet.
The Russian "cult microphone" is comparable in quality to the Neumann KM series and Schoeps microphones.
