The OMNITRONIC EM-550B MK2 offers five music channels with fader control and gain controls on the rear panel. Two of the channels can be switched between line and phono mode, which is particularly relevant for DJs with turntables. There are also two microphone channels with XLR/jack combo sockets, each with its own volume control, 3-band EQ, talkover and on-air switch - ideal for announcements or moderation.
The signal is distributed via two master outputs (XLR or RCA), a separate booth output (RCA) and a record output (RCA), which can be used without microphone signals using the NO-MIC switch - perfect for clean recordings. The headphone output with cue mix and split function can be used to preview individual channels or the master sum, which is particularly important for the precise preparation of transitions and mixes.
Status LEDs and a 10-digit stereo LED level display for the master are used to visualize the signal. The integrated talkover automatically regulates the music volume during active voice transmission and can be adjusted in terms of intensity and response time. The output levels can be controlled directly via rotary controls, supplemented by a 3-band EQ per master output - allowing the sound to be optimally adapted to the room acoustics or the intended use.
Technically, the device impresses with a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, an extremely low distortion factor of less than 0.02 % (at 1 kHz) and a signal-to-noise ratio of over 65 dB in line/phono mode. Energy consumption is very low at just 9 W, making the device ideal for continuous operation in installations.
