And what a sound it is: thanks to a tube rectifier that delivers the kind of super-playable attack and release feel that makes your fingers seem to just glide across the fretboard, and gain that ranges from lightning-clean to crunch to roaring saturation, this is an amp that will inspire players of all styles to excel. This versatility is also reflected in the amp's controls: with the Presence knob designed to work at any volume, not just very loud tones, you can lower the treble in the tone stack and add Presence, or vice versa, creating two completely different tones.

Combined with the three-way Bright switch, the sound shaping possibilities are almost endless. When the switch is in the neutral center position, the amp is a perfect pedal platform, allowing the muscle of your distortion and overdrive effects to amplify the tone of the amp. Sliding the switch to the left gives you a subtle treble boost; sliding it to the right activates a wider treble range that sharpens your tone, reminiscent of the best classic rock amps of yesteryear. Once you've found your ideal tone, you can engage the second volume control, which can be toggled with a footswitch for even more flexibility: a perfect rhythm tone can become a lead tone with the press of a foot, giving you a power boost for soloing, with a choke and huge output transformer providing more perceived clean headroom to ensure your tone stays cleaner as you get louder.
