Palmer 19 inch Press Patch Box PPB20
PPB stands for Press Batch Box. Palmer's PPb20 is a distributor for audio signals. It distributes an existing output signal to a large number of outputs.

The PPB20 has a microphone input and a line input. The input is selected via a push switch. Both input sockets are located on the front and rear. To optimize dynamics and noise performance, the overall gain is not controlled by a single gain control, but is split between a pushbutton with 30dB gain and a level control that takes care of the rest.

Visual control of the amplification is via a chain of LEDs. The signal can be checked acoustically using an adjustable headphone amplifier.

A PPB 20 provides 20 output signals. All outputs are galvanically isolated from each other, thus avoiding the dreaded ground loop hum. In the event of an output short-circuit, a maximum of one adjacent channel is therefore attenuated by approx. 3dB, all other outputs remain completely unaffected. The outputs can be grounded individually via a GND lift switch on the rear of the device.
