The SUB 8003-AS MK3 is an active subwoofer with extended bass response and integrated DSP. It has a compact housing, an advanced 18-inch sound transducer with ceramic magnets and a 4-inch voice coil. The integrated power amplifier module provides up to 2200 watts of power for sound pressure levels of up to 135 dB. The patented Bass Motion Control technology ensures extremely linear frequency reproduction and outstanding sound fidelity. Controls for presets, crossover frequency, polarity switching, cardioid dispersion and output delay are available on the rear panel. The robust wooden cabinet with scratch-resistant polyurea coating is designed for touring and is lightweight and stackable for quick and easy assembly and disassembly. RCF's lightweight subwoofers are characterized by impressive performance. For RCF Precision Transducers, our engineering team has developed specific new magnet sizes and molds to optimize magnetic flux while maintaining low weight. The magnetic circuit topology with 18-inch driver and 4-inch voice coil ensures top performance in three key areas: It achieves high integrity and uniformity of magnetic flux in the air gap, extremely low distortion, and efficient integration of the magnetic circuit with minimal weight. The optimized T-pole design reduces the modulation of the magnetic flux in the air gap to a minimum at typical voice coil excursion.

Power that moves

The most powerful power amplifier in its class. RCF transducers are constantly being optimized - and so are the power amplifiers. With 2200 W of power, our Class D power amplifier achieves impressive sound pressure levels with ultra-fast attack and natural transient reproduction with very low heat loss. The power amplifier is so energy efficient that it does not require a ventilation fan. Instead, it is mounted at the rear of the enclosure on a fixed heat exchanger with no moving parts. The stereo signal input path with crossover has been optimized for low distortion and features an advanced limiter for added safety, preserving the sound characteristics of the input signal at all levels. RCF power amplifiers are standardized for maximum safety (EN62368-1) and are powered by a highly efficient and ultra-light switching power supply.

Workhorse for touring

The RCF cabinets are made of high-quality hardwood multiplex with a black polyurea coating. The subwoofers are stackable and lightweight and can be easily assembled and disassembled thanks to the ergonomically shaped handles. High stand flanges on the top and on one side allow the speaker to be used in various configurations. The powder-coated front grille is lined with acoustic foam on the inside, which also protects the speakers from dust.
