The soundbite XL is the advanced offspring of redsound's revolutionary dj sampler the Redsound Cycloops. Combining red sound's acclaimed v2 bpm engine with a new invention "cyclic sampling" (patent pending!), the soundbite has new Loop groups, from 1/4 up to 32 beats, a bpm range of 60 - 230 bpm, 48khz sampling and has a facility which lets it synchronise automatically with any beat that is being fed into it. Weighing less than a kilogramme it is light and easy portable, and does not need a mixer with an effects loop as it plugs straight into your headphone socket.
A new Loop Filter mode allows the user to apply analog style filtering effects to the loop sample output. Low, Band and High-Pass filter types are included, the filter level being controlled in real-time by the large Edit jog dial. The powerful Low-Pass filter can be used to apply progressive high/mid frequency roll-off for a classic heavy filtered sound. The Band-Pass filter can be used to isolate a particular element in the audio whilst the High-Pass filter can be used to trim the bass frequencies of the loop output to avoid multiple signal overload in the mix.
The External Filter mode - this special mode converts Soundbite XL into an external filter effects module. The built-in filter effects can be applied directly to the incoming audio signal allowing the user to modify any playback audio from their decks in realtime. Loop recording/playback is de-activated in this mode.
